Ignazio Tripodi
My name is Ignazio Tripodi.
I was born and live in Calabria in southern Italy where I carry on my family's century-old wine-making tradition.
HIstorical Evidence
We don't really know how long the Tripodi's have been making wine for but I recently chanced upon a tax receipt issued in 1892 to Paolo, son of Ignazio, inn-keeper, who would have been my great-grandfather.
Tripodi's Family
I and three of my brothers are now continuing the family wine business; wine is in our blood, not least because my father bathed nine of us, new-born, in wine - an ancient Spartan tradition which ensured that children grew strong and brave.
In our cantina in Archi, near Reggio Calabria, we vinify the grapes which produce the great wines of Pellaro, Palizzi, Cerasuolo di Scilla, Arghillą, Magna Grecia e Zephyro, while the two noble dessert wines, Greco di Bianco e Mantonico are produced in the cantina in Bianco.

For many years we have taken part in the most important wine fairs and in 1992 our Greco di Bianco won first prize at Wine America. Prize certificate

Our wines are available in specialist wine shops,
delicatessens and discerning restaurants.
